Marcel Rodman has been assistant coach at EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV since 2021. Prior to that, he gained experience as a coach, including as assistant coach at Medvescak Zagreb and as head coach in Jesenice and in the Slovakian league at DVTK Jegesmedvek. As a player, Marcel Rodman can look back on a very successful career: drafted by the NHL club Boston Bruins, champion in the DEL2 with the Bietingheim Steelers - he also played in the DEL (Schwenningen and Krefeld) and with Medvescak Zagreb in the KHL.

VSV sports director Gerald Rauchenwald: "The performances recently were unsatisfactory. We acted quickly to stop the apparent downward trend. The team has also been unable to identify with Daum's system. We undoubtedly have very good players, now we have to form a very good team."

Marcel Rodman: "First of all, I would like to emphasize that I am very proud to have been working here in Villach for two and a half years with this top-run organization. I would also like to thank Rob Daum, from whom I have learned a lot and from whose experience I have benefited greatly. But of course I am delighted that the Board has placed its trust in me. I can already say that I will give my all to fully justify this trust. We have a really good team, together we want to be successful and turn the Stadthalle back into a real fortress with proven virtues, for which the opponents will once again have real respect. The work starts immediately and with full vigor in order to achieve our goals - which are certainly high - together."
