Match dates for CHL round of 16 are fixed

The Champions Hockey League has announced the match dates for the round of 16. From the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, all three representatives are qualified for the knockout stage. Reigning champion EC-KAC and runner-up HCB Südtirol Alperia start the round of 16 with a home game. The EC Red Bull Salzburg has to play away from home first.

Champion EC-KAC will face Leksands IF in the round of 16 of the Champions Hockey League. The first leg against the Swedish representative will take place on Tuesday, November 16th at 19:00. The second leg will take place exactly one week later, on Tuesday, November 23rd, in Leksands. This match will also start at 19:00.

Runner-up HCB Südtirol Alperia also starts the round of 16 with a home match, against Lukko Rauma. The match will take place on November 16th at 19:30 in the Palaonda. The return match will take place on Wednesday, November 24th at 18:00.

The third ICE representative, EC Red Bull Salzburg, is first in action on Wednesday, November 17th at 20:05 at the Rouen Dragons. The second leg will take place on Wednesday, November 24th at 20:20 at the Red Bull Eisarena.

The combined score from both matches will decide which team will advance tot he next round. If the score is tied after 120 minutes (no away goals rule), the second game will be followed by a ten minutes overtime until the first goal is scored; if no goal is scored, a penalty shootout will decide who advances to the quarterfinals.
