The Red Bull Hockey Juniors and HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice have a 3:0 lead in their Alps Hockey League quarterfinal series. As a result, both teams are just one win away from advancing to the semifinals. The Young Bulls clearly won against the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 10:4. Jesenice beat the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 3:0 and celebrated the second shutout in a row. The first-time series lead is held by the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel, who won 3:0 at Rittner Buam SkyAlps. With 4:1 S.G. Cortina Hafro was victorious against the EHC Lustenau. Thus, the Italians are also in front in the "best-of-7" series with 2:1. All quarterfinal series will continue on Tuesday, March 14th.

For the first time in the history of the Alps Hockey League, EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel is in the lead in a playoff series. The Tyroleans celebrated a clear 3:0 away win at the Rittner Buam SkyAlps and now have a 2:1 advantage in the "best-of-7" series. The menn of the match were KEC goalie Alexander Schmidt, who celebrated his first shutout of the season, and Rok Kapel, who scored two goals. The Slovenian, who has only been in Kitzbühel since February 16th, already has twelve points from just eight games. The visitors already had a 3:0 advantage after about 17 minutes. Johannes Tschurnig scored the third goal for the Eagles. Ritten did not get into the game at any time, but still recorded 35 shots on goal.

Cortina celebrates home victory
Also in the third game of the series S.G. Cortina Hafro against EHC Lustenau the home team prevailed. Thus Cortina takes a 2:1 lead in the series against the Vorarlberg team. On Saturday, the Italians were victorious 4:1, with the game tied 1:1 until eight and a half minutes left before Gabriele Parini scored the 2:1 game-winner. Davide Faloppa and Michael Zanatta finally made everything clear in the final minutes of the game with two goals within 71 seconds. Lustenau's only goal was scored by Patrick Ratz in powerplay. With 44 to 29 shots on goal, the home side was also clearly superior in the shot statistics and thus celebrated a deserved victory in the end.

Jesenice with second shutout in a row
HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is only one win away from the semi-final advancement. The Slovenians beat the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan 3:0 on Saturday for their second straight shutout. Goalie Antti Karjalainen saved all 20 shots on goal. On Thursday, the Finn had to make 29 saves. The goals of last year's finalists were scored by Gasper Sersen (13.), Rudolfs Polcs (21.) and Zan Jezovsek (40.). Polcs, a Latvian, was the only player in the series to score at least one point in every game.

Red Bull Hockey Juniors win by double digits
Along with Jesenice, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors are also just one win away from advancing to the semifinals. In a goal spectacle, the Young Bulls won against the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 10:4 in game three. On the RBJ side, nine different players were on the scoresheet. Only Aljaz Predan scored twice. The only hat trick was scored by Miro Markkula, who plays for Unterland. The team from Salzburg had the game under control from the beginning, led 2:0 after the first period and added five goals in the second period. Unterland was successful twice in the second period. In the final period, the guests from Neumarkt were able to reduce the score to 3:7 early on, but the home side restored the five-goal advantage just a short time later. After that, the team from Salzburg added two more and in the end prevailed in an impressive manner with 10:4.
