With the signing of Mathias From in the offseason, the EC-KAC has - it seems - landed a real golden touch. The 26-year-old Danish winger has already scored five goals in his first three games for the Klagenfurt team, making it one of the best starts in the 25-year history of the win2day ICE Hockey League. The win2day ICE Hockey League spoke to Mathias From and put together his best scenes so far in a highlight video.

Mathias From joins the ranks of the league's best debutants with his performances in the win2day ICE Hockey League so far. In the last 25 years, only three players have managed to score six goals in their first three games: Colin Campbell (spusu Vienna Capitals, 2020/21), Pierre Dagenais (HC TIWAG Innsbruck, 2006/07) and Ivo Jan (Moser Medical Graz99ers, 2003/04). From also has six goals if his goal in the penalty shootout of the first game is included - a goal that is not officially included in the scoring statistics. But even without this goal, it is still the fourth most successful debut of the season in terms of goals scored.

Quick integration and great self-confidence

In a short interview with the win2day ICE Hockey League after his third game - the 5:0 win over Steinbach Black Wings Linz - Mathias From spoke about how he has settled in Klagenfurt: "Since the day I arrived, I've received a very warm welcome here, especially from the players and the entire staff. I felt at home right from the start. I already knew Jesper Jensen Aabo and Sebastian Dahm, which made it very easy to get started. I'm really enjoying it."

From himself couldn't really explain his success in the EC-KAC's first few games, although he emphasizes not to think about it too much. "I just wake up and don't think about it too much. I play with great players, that makes it easier too, and the way we play suits me perfectly. I try to improve day by day and just enjoy the moment."

Impressive performance and expectations of the league

From played for Herning Blue Fox in his native Denmark last season, where he became the league's top scorer with 43 goals in 57 games and led his team to the semi-finals. Now he is continuing his success story in the win2day ICE Hockey League. He also commented on the quality of the league in an interview: "I've only played three games in this league, but I really like the home games, and I also liked it here in Linz. There's a great atmosphere. The league is very professional and I feel very comfortable here. It's fun to be on a team that wants to win every night."

A promise of success for the future

With such a strong performance at the start, the question arises as to how long Mathias From can maintain this form. But the Dane remains humble and focused: "If I keep playing hard and creating chances, good things will happen. It won't be easy, but I'll keep trying to create opportunities. In the end, it's up to me whether I put the puck in the net."

Mathias From has the potential to become one of the big "heroes" of this season. EC-KAC fans can look forward to many more highlights, as the Dane is determined to confirm his impressive form. He has already proven to be a valuable reinforcement for the Klagenfurt team.
