Hockey Unterland Cavaliers suffered its first defeat of the season on Saturday: With four seconds left, the newcomer lost to S.G. Cortina Hafro 2-3. Despite the loss, HCU top scorer Santeri Haarala extended his point streak that has lasted since the beginning of the season with a brace. In the first duel of the season with Red Bull Hockey Juniors, the forward recorded an assist. The Cavaliers won the meeting five days ago 3-2, with two quick goals midway through the game they came up with the decision. But the young Salzburg responded immediately to that defeat, cruising past EHC Lustenau 6-1 on Saturday. Especially the twins Nikolaus and Thomas Heigl shone with strong performances with ten points each. Salzburg can draw level with the South Tyroleans on points with a win. Hockey Unterland Cavaliers' Alex Curti is suspended.

Alps Hockey League | 12.10.2022 | Schedule:
Wed, 12.10.2022, 7.15 pm: Steel Wings Linz – EC Bregenzerwald
Referees: REISINGER, WUNTSCHEK, Voican, Weiss. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
In Wednesday’s lone game, EC Bregenzerwald travels to Steinbach Steel Wings Linz. The Upper Austrians are playing their sixth home game in a row and need an offensive improvement above all: The Steel Wings have been waiting for a goal for over 129 minutes. With a total of only nine goals scored from eight games, the 13th-ranked team has the weakest offensiv of all teams. The "Wälder" have won all seven confrontations against the "Wings" in the past. On Saturday, the Vorarlberg side, which has a strong powerplay with 27.3% (#4) available, let a two-goal lead slip away in Sterzing, because of too many penalties, had to admit defeat after two wins before. It was the third road defeat for Markus Juurikkala's team this season.
