New austrian signings for 99ers and Black Wings

The Moser Medical Graz99ers and the LIWEST Black Wings Linz each announced new signings from Austrian national team players. While the 99ers secured the services of Philipp Lindner, the Black Wings signed U20 national team captain Julian Pusnik. Furthermore, Dan DaSilva will play his fifth season for the Upper Austrians.

Another national team player for 99ers defense
With Philipp Lindner, the Moser Medical Graz99ers managed to sign another Austrian national team player for their defense. The 23-year-old developed at Red Bull Salzburg, before moving to Innsbruck in the season 16/17, where he became a lot of trust,time on ice and continued his development. Currently, the newcomer to the Austrian national team is fighting for a place in the World Cup squad.
 
Black Wings sign U20 nationalteam captain
The 19-year-old Julian Pusnik will, together with Dan DaSilva, who extended his contract with the Black Wings Linz, go for goals for the LIWEST Black Wings Linz. The native Villacher was born into a large hockey family. His father, Andreas Pusnik, was Austrian champion three times, played for Austria and recently coached the U20 team of the VSV in the EBYSL. Grandfather Josef Pusnik won the title 11 times and was admitted to the IIHF Hall of Fame in 1998/99. Julian Pusnik himself developed at the Villacher SV and went through their youth teams. In the 2016/2017 season, Pusnik was set on loan to Klagenfurt for a few games, where Pusnik played five times in the Alps Hockey League (1 goal, 3 assists). After a strong U18 World Cup with Team Austria Pusnik moved to Sweden and joined the U20 team of Mora IK. In the strong Swedish youth league, the attacker played 71 times and scored seven goals and 11 assists. Julian Pusnik is considered as one of the greatest hockey talents of his year. At the U20 World Cup the striker was voted the most valuable player in Team Austria after scoring three points in five games (1 goal, 2 assists). In this World Cup tournament of Division IA Pusnik was not only Austria's captain, but was also described as the "heart and engine" of the team by coach Marco Pewal.
 
Dan DaSilva is going to play his fourth season in Linz
 Shortly before his 34th birthday, the Canadian Dan DaSilva extended his contract with the Black Wings for another year. DaSilva will be in Linz for the fifth consecutive season. After signing in 2015 the striker managed to play 229 games and collected 254 points (111 goals, 143 assists) so far. Last season, DaSilva was the topscorer of his team and moreover he and Brian Lebler shared the top goalscorer mark with 26 goals each.
