New backup goalie for Bolzano

The HCB Südtirol Alperia signed 22-year-old Justin Fazio as new backup goalie. After several years in the Ontario Hockey League, the Italian Canadian moved to Queen University in USports at the beginning of last season, achieving 93,6% save percentage in regular season.

With signing Justin Fazio the HCB Südtirol Alperia completed its netminder team. The 22-year-old goalie is described as talented, credible and flexible. At the age of 17 he started his career in the Ontario Hockey League, playing for Sarnia Strings. After he finished 2017-18 season as best netminder overall (91,8% save percentage), he got transferred in USports to Queen University. He increased his save percentage again (93,6% regular season) and got selected in the all-rookie team and all-star team.

“I am already waiting for the new season with Bolzano. The main goal is winning the championship and I will do my best for that goal. Further, I am happy to start my overseas career in such a competitive league and a strong team”, Fazio, who already arrived in South Tyrol heading with the foxes in the “Alperia Cup” next weekend, said.
