For Markus Phillips, Hydro Fehérvár AV19 is the second stop in Europe. Last season he played in the Finnish Liiga with Proin Ässät, played 38 games (4A). Prior to that he played in the AHL and ECHL. He was also on various junior national teams in Canada.

" I’ve always admired the fans of the team. I remember watching last years CHL’s game and couldn’t believe the support the team got. It was an easy decision to join knowing how great of an organization this is. The team is a very competitive team so that was important to me. They’re going in the right direction and I can’t wait to bring the team deep in the playoffs. I have a few friends in the league and I know it’s great hockey. Competitive and fast so it’s a perfect fit for my style of game. My goal is to help the team win on a nightly basis. I can contribute in both ends of the rink so I’m excited to show the fans what I can bring to the table. My strengths are my skating and puck moving abilities. I want to be an exciting player to watch and help the team win however I’m needed. I’m really excited to step foot on the ice in front of some of the best fans in the league," Phillips said.

Further squad decisions also in Villach and Salzburg
