After six seasons in Lukko, Tikkanen played his last two with TPS where he also got to the playoffs twice which extended his row of playing in the postseason for nine seasons in a row. „Harri will be a very solid two way defenseman at the Erste Bank Eishockey League level. He comes from playing top 4 minutes in the SM Liiga for many years and will be a real leader for our defenseman unit.  He skates very well and plays a very smart defensive game. We believe he can play in all situations and also play against other teams top lines“, said Aaron Fox, Medvescak Sports Director.
Tikkanen will be joined in defensive line with 24-year-old American Alexx Privitera. Player born in Old Tapan started his junior career in USHL where he played in All-Star game twice and got selected to the Second All-Star Team. Before going to college Privitera played for USNTDP Juniors and Muskegon Lumberjacks. Biggest success of his young career was winning the gold medal in Under 17 World Championship for USA where he played six games racking up one goal and four assists. Then Privitera opted for NCAA where he spent two years playing for Boston University before coming back to USHL team Dubuque Fighting Saints where Alexx played as a captain. After very successful season in which he got 44 points in 57 games, Privitera went back to NCAA where he joined University of Vermont. Privitera played 77 games for Vermont and in his last season before joining Medvescak he played for ECHL team Manchester Monarchs and spent 19 games on loan in AHL for Ontario Reign. „Alexx is a young solid up and coming defenseman who split his season between the AHL and the ECHL last year.  He plays a hard nose game for his size and his overall game should transition nicely to the European game“, added Aaron Fox.
