Due to the surprising withdrawal of the Steel Wings Linz AG for the 2024/25 season, the Alps Hockey League had to adjust the schedule and mode at short notice. To ensure that all thirteen teams play an adequate number of games, the league organization has decided to reintroduce the Master and Qualification Round.

Initially, all teams will play 36 Regular Season matches before the top five compete in the Master Round for the best starting position for the playoffs. The remaining eight teams play in two Qualification Round groups to qualify for the pre-playoffs, in which the last three quarterfinal tickets are played out. A first and second round will be played in both the Master and Qualification Round.

South Tyrol derby to kick off the season
The season kicks off on Saturday, September 21. The first round includes a South Tyrolean derby between HC Meran/o Pircher and defending champion Rittner Buam SkyAlps. Last year's finalist S.G. Cortina Hafro start the season one day later with a home game against Red Bull Hockey Juniors. For league newcomer KHL Sisak, the Alps Hockey League adventure begins on Thursday, September 26 with an away game at SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The Croatians are in action in the Continental Cup at the start of the season.

Due to possible further Continental Cup appearances by some teams, there may still be changes to the match schedule.
