HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice is back at the top of the table. The Slovenians won the top game of the matchday against the previous league leader Hockey Unterland Cavaliers clearly with 6:0 and celebrated already the thirteenth victory in a row in the Alps Hockey League. In addition, last year's finalist managed to take revenge for the clear 2:5 defeat in the first duel of the season. In Jesenice it took a little more than 17 minutes before the home side took the lead. With two goals in the last minutes of the first period and three more goals in the middle period, everything was quickly clear. For JES goalie Antti Karjalainen it was already the fourth shutout of the season. Unterland failed to score a goal for the first time in their 19th AHL game.

Steel Wings surprise Polar Bears
Last-placed Steinbach Steel Wings Linz celebrated a surprisingly clear 5:2 home victory over fifth-placed EK Die Zeller Eisbären. The Upper Austrians thus continued their upward trend, with the third win from the past four games. The "Polar Bears" lost away from home for the second time in a row. Both in the first and second period, the Steel Wings were successful twice. Only at the score of 0:5 from the point of view of Zell am See, which conceded the third defeat in the tenth AHL duel with SWL, they were able to score for the first time this evening. In the end, however, the Steel Wings brought the game home in commanding fashion.

The EC-KAC Future Team also celebrated a commanding home victory against the SHC Fassa Falcons. In the 4:1 win, three goals were scored in the first eleven minutes of the game. In the second period as well as one second before the end of the game it was the Klagenfurt team who made everything clear. Jakob Lippitsch was the only player to score twice.

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors suffered the only home defeat of the evening. Against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan they lost with 1:3. Remy Giftopoulos scored early in the game to make it 1:0. The Canadian followed up with his 9th goal of the season in the 32nd minute. While the Young Bulls conceded their second defeat in a row, it was the first win for the Broncos after three defeats in a row before.

Lustenau without a chance in Cortina
After three wins in a row, the EHC Lustenau suffered another setback. At the table fourth S.G. Cortina the table tenth lost clearly with 1:8. For the Italians it was the third victory in a row. Already after ten minutes Cortina led 3:0. After the first period they were 3:1 ahead. Cortina, which celebrated its third win in a row against the EHC, added two more goals in the middle period. They also scored twice in the final period. Tommasso Traversa and Diego Cuglietta were the players of the game with a brace.

The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel also conceded an away defeat at the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. After goalless first 20 minutes, a brace within 102 seconds at halftime was enough for Val Gardena to take control of the match. They followed it up with two more goals in the final period. For Val Gardena, with goalkeeper Colin Furlong celebrating his second shutout of the season, it was the second win in a row, while the "Eagles" from Kitzbühel conceded their fourth defeat from the past five games. In the standings, the South Tyroleans are seventh, just ahead of the Tyroleans.

In the seventh and last game of the evening, the HC Merano/o Pircher surprised the Rittner Buam SkyAlps (5:1). It was the first ever win in the AHL over the sixth-placed team in the table for the eleventh-placed team. In the first period it was Luca Ansoldi who put the "Eagles" on course for victory with a brace. In the second period, Julian Kostner was able to reduce the score to 1:2 from the "Buam's" point of view, but Lucas Chiodo restored the two-goal advantage only a short time later. It was also Chiodo who scored just before the end of the game for the final score of 5:1.
