No suspension for Andrew Yogan after an official complaint by Linz

From the perspective of PSC, it is conclusive that the stick motion by Andrew Yogan of HCB Südtirol Alperia is not worthy of a suspension.

Following an 'EBEL official complaint' from EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz to review an incident involving the player Andrew Yogan #12 of HCB Südtirol Alperia,  after Quarterfinal number 4 at Bozen on Sunday, March 05th 2017 time 37:53, a case was opened and sent to the PSC. According to the EHC LIWEST Black Wings Linz report and video evidence supplied, Andrew Yogan #12 made a play which is, in the opinion of Linz, a spearing action.  The incident was sent to PSC and a conclusive decision is made. By the Referee, a 2 minute penalty was called on the play for Slashing - IIHF Rule 159.
 
On Monday, March 06th, 2017 an EBEL official complaint was sent to the the EBEL league office as per the EBEL Fundamental Rules.  In reference; the situation occurred Sunday, March 5th in a game played in Bozen, involving Bozen player #12, Andrew Yogan.  Through the EBEL official complaint, Linz stated that Andrew Yogan speared the opposing player. A case was opened and sent to the EBEL PSC for review.  The EBEL PSC reported, unanimously, that no suspension is required. From the perspective of the EBEL Hockey Operations and as the video shows, Andrew Yogan gains possession of the puck, makes a play with the puck in a direction out of his defending zone and in an opposite direction of his skating lane.  The opposing player follows the skating lane of Andrew Yogan to attempt a body check.  The opposing player leans to his right to make the body check which is in the same direction as the location of Andrew Yogan stick. Based on the available video footage, it is conclusive that Andrew Yogan's stick made contact with the opposing player, but not conclusive of a spearing action.
 
From the perspective of PSC, it is conclusive that the stick motion by Andrew Yogan is not worthy of a suspension.  The Andrew Yogan case is deemed conclusive, with no suspension and no fine. So Yogan is allowed to play in QF 5 on Tuesday at Linz.
