Olimpija wins at the Pioneers

The first game of the sixth round took place in Feldkirch on Saturday evening. In this Olimpija Ljubljana beat the Pioneers Vorarlberg 5:2. Through the win the Slovenians moved up to the second place in the table.

1,514 fans attended the game in the Vorarlberghalle. However, the spectators had little to celebrate at the start of the encounter. The visitors from Ljubljana were 3:0 ahead after just thirteen minutes. There was some hope in the 19th minute when Luca Erne reduced the deficit to 1:3 for the home side. In the second period, Daniel Woger even managed to score the 2:3 in the 37th minute. However, Olimpija were unimpressed and finally restored their two-goal lead in the 55th minute through Nik Simsic. Robert Sabolic scored an empty-net goal to make it 5:2. It was Olimpija's fifth win in their sixth game of the season. With 14 points, they are in second place in the table, one point behind leader Graz. The Pioneers suffered their third defeat in a row and are in eleventh place with four points.
