Robin Gartner (#4) of Dornbirn Bulldogs, time 06:52 was involved in an incident deemed as Checking to the Head or Neck (IIHF Rule 124). The video evidence was sent to the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga Committee (PSC), which determined the incident to be worthy of supplementary discipline - Category 1 - 'Careless'.

According to the Arbitrator and having considered the video evidence and ruling of the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga PSC, Robin Gartner (#4) of Dornbirn Bulldogs, will receive supplementary discipline under rule 124 –Checking to the head or neck.

On October 11th in Bozen, an incident occurred involving Robin Gartner (#4) deemed as a check to the head. With Bozen rimming the puck in the attacking zone corner, #10 Sylvestre Sebastien is looking behind and preparing for the puck. As the puck approached, Sylvestre Sebastien did not play the puck, never had possession or control of the puck and was checked in an unsuspecting manner. The person making the check, Robin Gartner had no regard for the puck and instead made a choice to body check. The reasoning for supplementary discipline had been considered for either interference, due to the opposing player not having possession or control of the puck or a check to the head. The decision of the PSC, regarding supplementary discipline was for a CTH. As the video shows, Robin Gartner had his left arm separated from his stick which elevated his left shoulder directly into the head area of Sylvestre Sebastien. The check is deemed careless and avoidable. Although Sylvestre Sebastien appeared initially injured, he did return to play later in the game. These type of checks are deemed dangerous and a high probability of injury. Players must have a regard for the puck and avoid head contact.

Effective immediately, Robin Gartner (#4) of Dornbirn Bulldogs is suspended for 1 game and fined 250.00Euros.
