One more preseason game scheduled

Broncos win one out of three | Pustertal finishes preseason without a win
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan had a tough preseason schedule during past weekend, with three games to play. Besides the losses against the Starbulls Rosenheim (3:4) and the TEV Miesbach (1:9), the South Tyrolean snatched up one victory. They beat the EC Lindau Islander (GER) 4:2, celebrating their lone preseason victory. Further, the HC Pustertal got two more defeats past weekend, finishing the preseason without a win. On Friday, they crossed sticks with two-time Erste Bank Eishockey Liga champion HCB Südtirol Alperia. Ivan Althuber tied it at one for the AHL side, which lost 1:3 in the end, in the middle frame. Two days later, on Sunday, the “wolves” suffered the fifth consecutive defeat and finished the preseason without a win, losing to Starbulls Rosenheim (GER) 1:2.

Newbies get defeated in last scrimmage
Both newbies got defeated in the last scrimmages before the first Alps Hockey League regular season game, as the Vienna Capitals Silver lost at SHK Hodonin (CZE) 3:4 and the Steel Wings Linz missed their first preseason win at EK Die Zeller Eisbären, losing 1:3. With Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey against S.G. Cortina Hafro one more internal battle was scheduled past weekend, with Cortina taking a tight 5:4 shootout win.

Ritten suffers first preseason defeat
After four straight victories in the preparatory campaign, the Rittner Buam got the first preseason defeat, as the former Alps Hockey League champion lost 2:5 against HCB Südtirol Alperia and finishing “Alperia-Cup” second. Radovan Gabri and Randy Gazzola scored for the “Buam”. While the Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated a 4:2 road win at SC Riessersee with four different players scoring, five more Austrian teams head into the first Alps Hockey League round coming Saturday after a loss. The EHC Lustenau lost 3:4 to EV Landshut (GER). While Lustenau had to concede two goals in the first quarter, from the second period on the EHC was equal. The EC-KAC II conceded a 2:5 defeat against Deggendorfer SC (GER). The VEU Feldkirch had beaten after overtime by the SC Riessersee (GER). The EC "Die Adler" Stadtwerke Kitzbühel suffered a high defeat against the polar bear Regensburg (GER). The EC Bregenzerwald was also without a chance against HC Düdingen (SUI). They lost 0:5.

Last preseason game on Tuesday
On Tuesday the last preseason game in the Alps Hockey League will take place. HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice meets HC Gherdeina valgardena.it at 7pm. On Saturday, the AHL starts in the fourth season. Nine games are on the schedule.
