In the past week, eight Alps Hockey League clubs have presented roster updates for the upcoming season. While the Rittner Buam named their goalie squad, including new arrival Hayden Hawkey, the other teams mostly presented contract extensions.

Rittner Buam announce goalie squad
The Rittner Buam have published their goalie squad for the 22-23 season. After Jake Smith left the former AHL champion, signing at ICE side HC Pustertal Wölfe, the South Tyroleans tabbed Hayden Hawkey, who heads into his first campaign overseas, after he played at Reading Royals in the past ECHL season. Moreover, Hannes Treibenreif and Florian Plattner will be part of Ritten’s goalie squad in the upcoming season.

“Broncos” extend with two defender and two goalies
Past season’s quarterfinalist Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan has extended the contracts of Fabian Hackhofer and Michael Messner. Captain Hackhofer, who scored three goals and 18 assists past season, and Messner (1G|12A) return for the seventh AHL campaign with the “Broncos”. Both goalies of the past season – Jakob Rabanser and Fabian Klammer – stay at Sterzing too.

“Eisbären” increase coaching staff
Austrian side EK Die Zeller Eisbären have extended its coaching staff by signing Jaako Niskavaara.

Defender Scap stays at Jesenice
Vice champion HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice keeps defender Luka Scap for another season, after the 30-year-old collected two goals and five assists in the past campaign.

Bregenzerwald keeps two scorer
EC Bregenzerwald extended the contracts of Fabian Ranftl (12G|10A) and Richard Schlögl (13G|14A), after both players have scored more than 20 points each past season.

Five more players continue at Steel Wings Linz
The Steel Wings Linz have announced the contract extension of five more players for the upcoming season. Sebastian Wilding, Patrick Gaffal, Benjamin Mosaad, Arturs Brikmanis and Fabio Rohm each remain at the Austrian side.

Linder and Moroder make one more season for Gherdeina
HC Gherdeina valgardena.it continues with Tim Linder (2G|5A) and Samuel Moroder (7G|4A).

HC Meran/o hires ECHL scorer
Ben Hawerchuk strengthens the roster of HC Meran/o in the upcoming AHL season, as the forward arrives from Jacksonville Icemen, scoring 20 goals and 19 assists in the past ECHL campaign. Further, experienced forward Nikolai Zherdev (10G|11A) left the South Tyroleans, while forward Sebastian Thaler (1G|2A) signed a contract extension.
