Perkovich stays in the Den

Favourite player of Medvescak fans, 31-year-old American with Croatian ancestors Nathan Perkovich will wear the Bears jersey in their comeback Erste Bank Eishockey Liga season. This will be his sixth campaign in the Den which makes him the player with most caps in the current squad.

Perkovich started his career in USHL where he played three seasons, first one for Cedar Rapids Roughriders and next two seasons for Chicago Steel. In his last season for Chicago Perkovich scored 24 goals and made 28 assists in 56 games which attracted the attention from NHL team New Jersey Devils who drafted Perkovich in 2004 as 250th pick in the 8th round. After a great start in USHL Perkovich decided to play in NCAA. Perkovich played 113 games for Lake Superior State University scoring 27 goals and assisting 44 times. Those great plays gave Perkovich the chance to sign his first professional contract in 2009 for ECHL team Trenton Devils. His biggest success there were six games played in the playoffs before taking the next step which was AHL.
 
Perkovich played three years for Ney Jersey Devils affiliate, Lovell Devils who were renamed as Albany Devils in 2010. He played 161 game for Albany scoring 69 points. In September 2011 Perkovich even had a trial at New Jersey Devils camp. He came to the Den in 2012 when Medvescak played it's last EBEL season before opting for KHL where they stayed for four years. Nathan prooved himself as a great player in his first Erste Bank Eishockey Liga season. Perkovich played 48 games including five in the playoffs racking up 12 goals and 21 assists.
 
Croatian origin and performances in Medvescak gave Perkovich a chance to play for Croatian national team. He played at three World Championships in Division 1B collecting 15 caps.
