The EC-KAC let the deadline for the club's withdrawal from the players contracts expire. As a result, the cooperation with Nick Petersen and Niki Kraus is automatically extended until the end of the coming season under fixed conditions. After Rok Tičar, the winger thus occupies the second import spot with the Klagenfurt team for the upcoming 2020/21 season in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League.  Kraus is already facing his sixth season in Klagenfurt.

Nick Petersen had joined the red jackets after five years in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) in the summer of 2018. In his very first season with the club, he played a major role in winning the title as the team-internal top scorer. In his second year, the 31-year-old had to struggle with injury problems, so that he was only able to play 23 of the 51 league games before the season was prematurely terminated. In total, Nick Petersen has played in 95 matches for the EC-KAC, scoring 102 scorer points (34 goals, 68 assists) and posting a strong plus/minus record of +34.

Niki Kraus joined Klagenfurt in 2015 as a junior player, via the farm team involved in the Alps Hockey League he worked his way into the squad of the
first team up. The 23-year-old has so far played 134 competitive matches for this team, which resulted in 19 scorer points (five goals, 14 assists) at individual level.
