In an in-depth conversation, Head Coach Phil Lukas offers fascinating insights into his work and mindset as an ice hockey coach. For Lukas, one thing stands above all: the person behind the player.

“We’re in a business where we deal with people,” says Lukas. “Coaching has changed a lot – today it’s much more about relationships than about tactics.”

The former pro emphasizes how crucial authenticity and clear communication within the staff are: “It’s important to embody what truly matters to you – and to deliver that message to the team in a clear and concise way.”

Lukas also speaks openly about daily routines, the importance of trust within the staff, and the long-term goal of sustainable development within the club. To him, success can’t be measured by wins alone: “Success is also about the development of each individual player – both athletically and personally.”

To conclude, Lukas reflects on what drives him: “I became a coach to inspire people – and I hope I can do that every single day.”
