The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg have signed Steven Owre. The 26-year-old Canadian, who can play both as a center and winger, won the EIHL title last season with the Belfast Giants. In addition, Kele Steffler moves from EC-KAC to HC TIWAG Innsbruck. For Klagenfurt, the 24-year-old defenseman played 144 games in the win2day ICE Hockey League in recent years.

Steven Owre was already high on the wish list of the Pioneers officials last summer. Due to the known time problems, however, a transfer ultimately did not come about. So the Canadian played 2022/23 with the Belfast Giants and delivered powerful arguments for another transfer attempt: Championship title, Cup victory and in the Champions Hockey League he proved his goal-scoring qualities against teams like HC Davos.

"I'm really happy that the transfer came through this time. I think I can help the team with my fast, skillful game. We want to reach the playoffs together, I want to contribute to that with my creativity in the offense," said the newcomer, who can be used both as a center and winger.

Kele Steffler moves to Innsbruck
Since the 2017/18 season, Kele Steffler played in the EC-KAC organization and developed into a reliable defender there. For the Carinthians, the dual national (AUT/USA) hit the ice over 100 times in the win2day ICE Hockey League - and close to 100 times in the Alps Hockey League. Now the 24-year-old decided to move to HC TIWAG Innsbruck.

Kele Steffler: "I am looking forward to a new chapter in my career. It is a great opportunity for me and I will give everything to help the team. Innsbruck played a great last season, and my goal is to build on that with the team and get even better."
