The HC Pustertal Wölfe announced the signing of Nick Plastino. The 36-year-old, who was active in Bolzano the past two seasons, thus returns to the win2day ICE Hockey League after a time off of several months. After his junior time in the OHL, Plastino matured in Asiago not only to a regular and Italian national player, but also to a top performer in European hockey. After playing in Sweden, Norway and Finland, the 36-year-old joined Bratislava in the KHL. In 2017, he made the leap back to Central Europe. With Ambri-Piotta, Plastino spent no less than three years in the Swiss NLA (2017 to 2020). The last two years Plastino played for the HCB Südtirol Alperia. In the 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons, the right-shooter pulled the strings in the power play and build-up play, scoring 56 points. Still in the summer of 2022, he was hired by the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV. There Plastino did not compete for family reasons, now he strengthens the back line of the HC Pustertal.

With four championship titles (2 x Asiago / Italy, Stavanger / Norway, Tappara / Finland), and appearances in the World Cup, Spenglercup, Champions Hockey League and numerous top leagues in Europe, among others, the team of coach Horsky receives a lot of experience and class. "I'm really looking forward to coming to Bruneck with my family. We had to deal with some health issues with our daughter, but now everything is fine and I'm ready to get going again. I've spoken with sport director Patrick Bona and my former teammates Dan Catenacci and Anthony Bardaro, who have all assured me that I will find a group of hard-working guys. I'm really looking forward to this new challenge in Pustertal," said the newcomer.
