Rights holder Sky Sport Austria enabled the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League clubs to produce livestreams of all non-TV games for the period of the COVID-19 crisis. The clubs took advantage of this concession, offering home games as online streams on the newly created live.ice.hockey platform and individual club homepages (EC Red Bull Salzburg, spusu Vienna Capitals). Productions with up to eight cameras provided TV-like settings and the broadcast coverage also contributed to the great success. In addition to the use of ice hockey personalities as co-commentators, analyses and expertise on the games were transported in the run-up and afterwards, and specially produced content was also used during the intermissions.

The streaming initiative already brought a 29% increase in live media value in the first phase of the regular season (after 44 rounds). Without this option, the increase would have been 6%. In the regular season, the games offered via streaming generated a media value of 2,1 million.

"Within a short time, the clubs and the league have managed to create a model of outstanding quality here, which can also establish itself as part of live coverage in the future. The goal of the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League must be to offer as much live content as possible," says President Kommerzialrat Mag. Jochen Pildner-Steinburg.

Charity tickets available on live.ice.hockey
Currently, the newly created streaming platform live.ice.hockey serves as a contact point for the charity campaign in favor of the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. In order to help the South Tyrolean club of the Alps Hockey League after the collapse of the hall roof, the clubs and responsible for the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League have created the ICE raffle. Prizes provided by the clubs will ultimately be raffled off among all donors. Find all information here.
