Preliminary match dates for the intermediate round have been set

The match dates for the intermediate round of the Alps Hockey League have been set. The five teams that have already qualified for the playoffs will start the Master Round on Tuesday, February 11. The remaining eight teams will fight for the pre-playoffs in two qualification round groups from Tuesday, in which the last three quarter-final tickets will be played out.

The top five teams from Phase 1 of the Regular Season have already secured their tickets for the quarter-finals. In the Master Round, they will compete from Tuesday, February 11 to Tuesday, March 4 (home and away match) for the right to pick and home court for the playoffs.

As the winners of Regular Season Phase 1, EK Die Zeller Eisbären go into the Master Round as the frontrunners and with four bonus points, followed by defending champions Rittner Buam SkyAlps (3 bonus points), SIJ Acroni Jesenice (2 bonus points), Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel (1 bonus point) and S.G. Cortina Hafro (0 bonus points). The Italians only booked their ticket for the Master Round in the very last game.

Qualification Round divided into two groups
The Qualification Round also starts on Tuesday, February 11. Divided into two groups of four teams each, the three best teams per group will qualify for the pre-playoffs, in which the three vacant playoff spots will be played out in a best-of-3 format. (1st Qualification Round A - 3rd Qualification Round B; 2nd QRA - 2nd QRB; 3rd QRA - 1st QRB).

A first and second round will also be played in the Qualification Round. The last game will take place on Sunday, February 23. This will be followed by the pre-playoffs. At the same time, the teams in the Master Round will play their remaining games.

The bonus points in both groups were awarded according to the following system: 3-2-1-0. In Qualification Round A, the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan are the top seeded team, while in Qualification Round B, league newcomer KHL Sisak take the top position.

Quarterfinal kick-off on March 08

The playoff pick will be made after the pre-playoffs, which will take place from Thursday, February 27 to Tuesday, March 4. The first quarter-final matchday is scheduled for Saturday, March 8. The champion of the ninth Alps Hockey League season will be determined on Saturday, April 19 at the latest.
