Preseason tournament in Klagenfurt starts on Tuesday

The inaugural WellCard Trophy gets underway in Klagenfurt on Tuesday, with a total of six games scheduled through Sunday. Hosts EC-KAC will face league newcomers Milano Hockey Club in the opening game. The Vienna Capitals will also take part in the preseason tournament and face the University of Saskatchewan on Wednesday. In total, six preseason games involving teams from the win2day ICE Hockey League are scheduled through Thursday.

Starting Tuesday, the Heidi Horten-Arena in Klagenfurt will host the WellCard Trophy for the first time. Alongside hosts EC-KAC, the preseason tournament will feature the Vienna Capitals, league newcomers Milano Hockey Club and the University of Saskatchewan Huskies from Canada. Each team will face every other team once, resulting in a schedule of six games over six days.
The tournament opens on Tuesday with KAC facing Milano, followed by the Vienna Capitals taking on the University of Saskatchewan on Wednesday. The Canadians will be back in action on Thursday when they face the league newcomers from Milan. One game per day is also scheduled from Friday through Sunday.

Further preseason games involving ICE Hockey League teams
Three additional preseason games involving teams from the win2day ICE Hockey League are scheduled from Tuesday through Thursday. On Tuesday, Pioneers Vorarlberg host the GCK Lions. On Wednesday, HCB Südtirol Alperia visit Asiago for their second preseason game against a team from the Alps Hockey League. In their preseason opener, the Foxes defeated Gherdeina 12-0. Finally, Thursday will feature an all-ICE Hockey League clash between HC Falkensteiner Pustertal and Olimpija Ljubljana.
