They were already 4:0 in the lead against their local rivals, only to lose 4:5/OT in the end. The KAC won all three away games against the Pioneers in the quarterfinals and never conceded more than one goal. The KAC have beaten Pustertal 7:1 in each of their last two games. In the Regular Season even in Bruneck. Pustertal's Ryan Stanton will miss Friday's game due to a suspension.

Standings in the "best-of-7" series: 1:0
The HCB Südtirol Alperia started the semifinal series with a 2:0 away win at the EC Red Bull Salzburg. After winning the opener, they have always reached the finals so far. This has been the case three times so far. They have faced Salzburg in all three final series. The Red Bulls have only reached the final once after a defeat in the semifinal opener and have subsequently been eliminated three times. The player of the match in semifinal one was goalkeeper Sam Harvey, who saved all 45 shots on his goal. It was Bolzano's first away win in Salzburg this season. In front of their home crowd, the "Foxes" beat the Red Bulls in both games in the Regular Season. Bolzano have now five home games without a defeat, while Salzburg have won three of their last five away games. In last season's final, RBS was victorious in two of three games in the Sparkasse Arena.
