At a young age, the 186 cm tall defenseman moved to Sweden, and after several years in Linköping’s youth system, he took the leap to North America. Although undrafted, Lauridsen went on to make 137 appearances in the AHL before returning to Europe. He spent the majority of his career in Sweden, where the left-handed shooter, known for his powerful shot, played a total of 308 games for Malmö, HV71, AIK, and Leksands. In the 2017/18 season, Lauridsen was also part of the DEL champion Red Bull Munich’s roster, with whom he played in the Champions League. In January 2024, he returned to the DEL, joining the Frankfurt Lions.

In total, the versatile defenseman has played nearly 250 international games for Denmark, bringing all this experience and quality to Pustertal, where he will wear the number 11 jersey.

Markus Lauridsen: “I had some very good conversations with Patrick Bona and Jason Jaspers about the direction HCP wants to take and how I can contribute to success in the future. I want to be a player the team can rely on both on and off the ice, and to bring my experience and leadership qualities to the team. I am really looking forward to coming to Pustertal and getting to know my teammates.”
