The HC Pustertal announced the signing of Wyatt Ege. The 27-year-old defenceman spent most of last season in the East Coast Hockey League and also played a few games in the American Hockey League. This is already the second stop in Europe for the US-American, two seasons ago he was with the Slovakian first division team Nitra.

After a few years with Ohio State University, the move to Nitra in the Slovakian league followed because of a (corona-induced) hockey-less autumn in North America in 2020. There, Ege played a total of 27 games before heading back overseas to the "minors" in the summer of 2021. Last season, the US-American defended for Cincinnati (ECHL, 70 appearances, 29 points) as well as Providence and Rochester (AHL, 6 appearances, 1 point).

This year Wyatt Ege initially signed a two-way contract with the teams from Rochester (AHL) and Cincinnati (ECHL), but now decided to continue his career in Europe. Now he is signing on in Pustertal. Whether the new jersey number 77 of the Wolves will already be seen on Friday in Villach and on Saturday at the home game against Graz is not yet certain.
