Pustertal wins Alperia Cup

The HC Pustertal won the sixth edition of the Alperia Cup against the HCB Südtirol Alperia clearly with 6:1. In addition, the BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg lost to the HC Thurgau from the Swiss League with 5:6, despite an intermediate 5:2 lead.

For the sixth time the HC Pustertal and the HCB Südtirol Alperia played for the Alperia Cup. In front of 2139 spectators in Bruneck on Tuesday evening Pustertal clearly kept the upper hand with 6:1 in the South Tyrolean derby and thus won the title for the second time in a row. Bolzano decided the other four editions in its favor. After the first period the score was still tied 1:1, in the middle period the home side pulled away to 3:1. In the final period, the Wolves scored three more goals.

For Pustertal the preseason ends on Friday at the EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV. Bolzano is already in action again on Thursday in the Champions Hockey League at Swiss champion Genève-Servette HC.

Defeat for Pioneers despite a 5:2 lead
The BEMER Pioneers Vorarlberg played their second last game of the preseason and were defeated by HC Thurgau from the Swiss League with 5:6 despite leading 5:2 in the meantime. After 40 minutes, everything still pointed to a clear home victory for the Pioneers. The Vorarlberger team was already comfortably in front with 5:2, before the guests benefited from individual mistakes of the Pioneers in the final period and were able to win 6:5 in the end.
