The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated their fifth consecutive home win after beating HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice 5:4. Vice champion Rittner Buam gained a clear 6:2 win against EC Bregenzerwald in front of their home crowed. VEU Feldkirch secured a tight 5:4 overtime win at Hockey Milano Rossoblue.

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated their third win in a row and extended their home winning streak to five. The Austrian side gained a tight 5:4 home win against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice. The Slovenians lost for the first time after four wins in a row. The Juniors got off a perfect start when Julian Klöckl scored in the second minute. The hosts doubled up later in the first. Soon later Jesenice reduced the deficit on a power play situation. Further, Salzburg was able to restore its two-goal lead and defended any offensive effort of the “red steelers”, who were not enough effective in front of the net overall.

The game was immediately exciting. After 83 seconds of play, the VEU took the lead in superiority after a central shot by Christoph Draschkowitz. Then in the first period, the Austrian team found two more scorings with Christian Jennes slapshot and then with Dylan Stanley with a breakaway (in shorthanded). In the second period the pace of the game is raised as the red-blue returned in the game thanks to a double superiority. Simone Asinelli (in back) and Guillame Doucet (diagonal shot) shortened the distances in 73 seconds. Then in the final part of this period was still a lot of play and a goal for each teams (Wiedmaier and Re). In the third frame the home team put a lot of pressure and got a draw with Alessandro Re and with the complicity of Dominik Rauter (autogoal). In the overtime, the VEU took 21 seconds to decide the game with a fast action by Steven Birnstill. It should be noted that Eric Pance is no longer a Milan player.

While Michael Lang made his debut for Ritten, five players were absent at the Austrian side: Marcel Wolf, Jürgen Fussenegger, Samu Souminen, Maximilian Egger and Christian Haidinger. Good start of the Ritten that went ahead with Ivan Tauferer (first goal in the season) in powerplay. Then despite greater pressure from the hosts, there was the draw by Simeon Schwinger. In the second half the home put even more effort and in the middle of the game made two important goals with Stefan Quinz and Thomas Spinell. The Rittner Buam spread in the last drittel. This time in the scorer list there was Julian Kostner, who scored in powerplay (4:1). At 46.26 another Kostner put his signature, this time Simon. Just after 19 seconds Kevin Fink scored another goal. Shortly after Daniel Ban shortened the gap on 6: 2. Then nothing happened again: the Ritten earned three well-deserved points.
