EC Red Bull Salzburg has won final game 2 against HC Südtirol Alperia at home on Monday (3:0) and tied the best of seven series at 1:1. Plus: Contract extensions in Innsbruck and Zagreb.

In final game 2 between EC Red Bull Salzburg and HCB Südtirol Alperia the fans had to wait 32 minutes for the first goal. Then, Peter Mueller skated with much speed through the HCB defense, rounded the net of goalie Pekka Tuokkola and scored into the short angel - 1:0. Prior each team hit the post once. The Italians took two penalties late in the second period, but the Mozart Citizens could not take advantage from the Power Plays. Besides Rob Schremp shot the puck over the net after a single action late in the period. The last 20 minutes of the game started perfect for the Austrians: Bobby Raymond finished a nice combination for the 2:0. Bozen tried to respond quickly, but Halmo and Carlisle missed their chances. Then, Salzburg controlled the game. Schremp and Herburger hit the post. But the 3:0 was just a question of time: Finally, Hughes potted the 3:0 into the empty net. The finals will continues with two games and best of five in Bozen on Thursday.
