On Saturday HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice vs. HC Fassa Falcons opens 9th round of Alps Hockey League. The Slovenians are ranked fourth in standings, after winning the last three games in a row. They showed big strength on the defensive end, accepting only one goal each, while scoring 5,6 on average. Moreover, Jesenice is unbeaten on homecourt. Opponent HC Fassa Falcons played six games so far. After only one shootout win against EC Bregenzerwald, the Italian side is ranked third last. Jesenice won three out of four meetings with Fassa in the past.

After gaining one point at their season opener in Klagenfurt, Rossoblu suffered five consecutive losses. The Italian side reveals problems on the offensive end: Milano scored only 12 goals in its first six games, which is the lowest amount of goals of all teams. While Rossoblu has a scoring efficiency of 6,0%, the Broncos converted 13,6% of their shots on goal. The 5th ranked team based in Wipptal shows a good defensive performance so far. 13 goals against means being third best in the AHL.

After the Vorarlberg Citizen suffered six consecutive defeats, they are ranked 14th. Both teams earn two wins in their past meetings.

The hosts are currently ranked third in standings and they are five points behind the leader. After five consecutive victories, the EHC, who is still unbeaten in front of its home crowed, lost against leader HC Pustertal on Thursday. Lustenau, which scored the most goals (40) so far, netted for the first time only one goal. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors contest for the third time on the road. After winning their last two home games, Salzburg moved to 7th place in standings. Lustenau won three of four previous games against the Juniors and also both home games.

It is the new edition of last years final on Staruday. Asiago celebrated its first Alps Hockey League title last season and also booked a solid start into the new season. After eight games the acting champ is on the second place and lost only one game so far in the new season. Other than the Rittner Buam. The Champion of the first year of Alps Hockey league captured only nine points in seven games and is currently ranked on the sevenths place. In their past game the Buam had to take a 1:4 defeat against Jesenice. Asiago won the past five games and aims to extend the series.

In the final game on Saturday two neighbors in standings are facing each other. The EK Zeller Eisbären do have the better position. After seven games the Austrian captured seven games and are ranked on the twelfth place. The HC Gherdeina captured one point less, playing one game more than the Eisbären. After the 4:1 win against Bregenzerwald, the Italians had to take to clear defeats. Zell celebrated a win after overtime recently against Cortina. Martin Oraze brought the decision with his fist goal of the season.

Tough weekend for the EC Bregenzerwald. After playing at Klagenfurt on Saturday, the Austrians continue their roadtrip to Ljubljana on Sunday. Ljubljana is currently placed in the top-6 after seven games. Especially in powerplay the Slovenians seem to be unstoppable. They scored the most goals in numerous advantage so far (10) and made an outstanding job in killing penalties of their opponents (96%).

The S.G. Cortina Hafro hosts the leader of the league. Pustertal is still perfect in the league and has the maximum amount of points after eight games. Recently the wolves celebrated a close win against the top-team of Lustenau. Raphael Andergassen scored the decisive goal in the final period and is the best scorer of his team. Cortina is currently on the ninth place. A few days ago Cortina lost against the Eisbären in overtime. It was the fourth consecutive defeat of Cortina.
