bet-at-home ICE Hockey League | 17.12.2021 | Schedule:
Fri, 17.12.2021, 7.15 pm: spusu Vienna Capitals – EC GRAND Immo VSV
Referees: SOOS, ZRNIC, Kis-Kiraly, Vaczi. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The spusu Vienna Capitals are fighting against EC GRAND Immo VSV to extend their home winning streak: The current fourth-placed team has gone eight games without defeat at Steffl Arena, and the last seven games have always been won after regulation, making the "Caps" clearly the best ICE home team. With only 1,73 goals conceded per home game, the two-time champions have the best defense on home ice. For even more offensive power, the Viennese have signed newcomer Matt Bradley, who could make his debut. Villach, which clearly dominated the first season duel with 7:1, inflicting their highest defeat of the season on the "Caps", would like to improve their road record in Vienna: With 1,17 points per road game, the "Adler" leave behind only three ICE teams in this ranking (PUS, G99, ZNO). Of the last four games in Vienna, the current best PK team in the league (86.57%) has won three.
Fr, 17.12.2021, 7.15 pm: EC-KAC – HK SZ Olimpija
Referees: HLAVATY, HRONSKY, Durmis, Jedlicka. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
HK SZ Olimpija had to give up the lead in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League to EC Red Bull Salzburg after last weekend - and defeats against Innsbruck and Székesfehérvár. The Slovenians have won only one of their last four games, on December 7th at the upcoming opponent EC-KAC (3:2). Two powerplay goals and league top scorer Guillaume Leclerc finally made the difference for the "Dragons". The league newcomer continues to impress with its offense, ranking second with 3,52 goals scored per game. Klagenfurt has also lost some of its drive recently, winning only one of its last four games. This could return with the comeback of last year's final MVP Nick Petersen: The Canadian should be back in the line-up of the "Rotjacken" after almost two months of injury. The return of Samuel Witting and Paul Postma is also imminent. Any decisions will be decided after gameday’s morning skate.
Fr, 17.12.2021, 7.15 pm: Steinbach Black Wings Linz – HCB Südtirol Alperia
Referees: FICHTNER, SIEGEL, Bärnthaler, Gatol. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
Bottom-ranked Steinbach Black Wings Linz host HCB Südtirol Alperia. The last time the two teams met in Linz, the Upper Austrians let slip away a one-goal lead three times – and then lost 3:4 in overtime. Linz's interim upward trend did not last long; Raimo Summanen's team (one win, six losses) has gone five games without points. Bolzano, coached for the second time by Greg Ireland, are fighting for their 15th win of the season. Since Sunday, the neo-coach has trained with the team, except for Simon Pitschieler, the entire squad is available to the sixth in the table.
As part of the game against the "Foxes", there will be the opportunity to be typed as a stem cell donor for 3-year-old Paul from Steyr, who is suffering from leukemia. The procedure itself only takes a few minutes, is carried out completely painlessly via a cheek swab and is, of course, free of charge.
Fr, 17.12.2021, 7.15 pm: Dornbirn Bulldogs – HC TESLA Orli Znojmo
Referees: NIKOLIC K., TRILAR, Hribar, Pardatscher. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The Dornbirn Bulldogs (they already play a home game against Graz on Thursday evening) fight again against their weak home record on Friday. For now nine home games (the game against Graz is not included;) the Vorarlberg side is without success. Above all, the start must be more concentrated. In the last six home games, they were trailing eary by one goal and conceded the first goal on average after four minutes and 45 seconds. HC TESLA Orli Znojmo is currently the weakest road team in the league: the Czechs have won only two of the twelve road games so far, including the first meeting in Dornbirn this season. The 5:1 on October 22nd was fixed with four goals in the second half of the first period. For the guests, Tor Immo, who made two goals and six assists in 14 games for Bratislava this year, could make his debut, as he replaces Hunter Fejes (6G|7A).
Fr, 17.12.2021, 7.15 pm: HC TIWAG Innsbruck - Die Haie – Moser Medical Graz99ers
Referees: HUBER, SMETANA, Seewald, Sparer. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
After Thursday's game at the Dornbirn Bulldogs, the Moser Medical Graz99ers stop in Innsbruck on their return trip, duel with the "Haie" for the first time in the current championship. The Tyroleans finally got back on track last week, picking up seven of a possible nine points. Especially goalie Tom McCollum gave the fifth-ranked an important support with a save percentage of 93.4%. Innsbruck's home record against Graz from the last ten games is quite positive with 19 of 30 possible points. The 99ers have also developed positively - they can once again rely on recently suspended defender Ben Blood in Innsbruck - and have been particularly convincing recently at Hydro Fehérvár AV19. As a result, the Styrians have moved up to ninth place in the table. Gustafsson's team is still a little weaker on the road, winning only three of its 13 games.
Fr, 17.12.2021, 7.45 pm: HC Pustertal Wölfe – Hydro Fehérvár AV19
Referees: PIRAGIC, STERNAT, Miklic, Zgonc. | >> PPV-Livestream <<
The game HC Pustertal Wölfe vs. Hydro Fehérvár AV19 is the start of a double-header for both teams: The South Tyroleans already host Znojmo on Saturday, the Hungarians guest less than 24 hours later in Salzburg. For the time being, the two teams will play each other for the last time: AVS first won outright, then after overtime. The last duel was won by PUS after shootout. On the last matchday, both teams were convincing: The "Wölfe" beat the reigning champions on the road, Fehervar won at home against Ljubljana. The league newcomer from Pustertal also has a three-game winning streak available, which could lift it into the top-10 if it continues. At the Hungarians Braden Shaw is still suspended.
