Standings in the "best-of-7" series: 1:1
The Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan celebrated the first semifinal victory in the AHL history on Thursday. In their 4:2 home win against the Rittner Buam SkyAlps, the game was tied 2:2 until five and a half minutes before the end of the third period, before the Broncos scored twice within 27 seconds. It was Ritten's first defeat against Sterzing since December 28, 2020 and the equivalent of nine wins in a row. The "Buam" have won the last six games at home against WSV. The last time the Regular Season champion lost in front of the home crowd in the Alps Hockey League was on October 7, 2023. This was followed by an incredible 21 wins in a row. Sterzing have won four of their last ten away games.

Sat, 23.03.2024, 20:30: S.G. Cortina Hafro - Red Bull Hockey Juniors
Referees: HOLZER, SCHAUER, Fleischmann, Moidl. | >> valcome.tv <<
Standings in the "best-of-7" series: 1:1
The second semifinal series is also tied 1:1. Both S.G. Cortina Hafro and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors started the semifinals with an away win. The Juniors won the opener in the third-longest playoff game in AHL history in Cortina. The Italians responded on Thursday with a narrow 3:2 win in Salzburg. Tommaso Traversa scored his seventh postseason goal. That means the 33-year-old currently has more goals in the 2024 playoffs than any other player. Only in quarterfinals three and five the forward failed to get on the scoreboard. Julius Ramoser, a player from the Young Bulls, follows in second place. The 22-year-old native of Bolzano has already scored five times. However, the 22-year-old was not in the Salzburg squad for semifinal two on Thursday. The two teams also faced each other in last season's semifinal. Cortina narrowly prevailed with 4:3 and lost two home games during the series. So far this season, they have lost seven games in front of their home crowd. The Young Bulls have been winless away from home seven times in 23/24.
