Important victory of the Rittner Buam that bent with the least advantage (1:0) the Sportivi Ghiaccio Cortina Hafro and thanks to this success the team of coach Riku-Petteri Lehtonen gained the third place in the standings with two points ahead of Salzburg. For the team from Klobstein this was the fourth win of the season against the Cortina. In the guest team were absent Ayotte, Moser and Alessandro Zanatta. Despite two superiority in favor and greater pressure, the Cortina didn’t find any winning ideas from the side of Tragust. On the contrary, Thomas Spinell, once left the penalty bench, took the advantage of the home team after 18' of play for what will prove to be the only mark of the meeting. In the second period the Ritten played more in the attack but the Cortina answered well thanks to the saves of Marco De Filippo. Even in the last period the result didn’t change thanks to the great work of the defenses. Then the final epilogue of the match with the Cortina that tried with the extra attacker but Thomas Tragust defended the result as he earned his fifth shutout. On next Saturday the match was more than decisive for the direct access to the quarter-finals: at the Ritten Arena there will be Salzburg in a very important match for the final ranking for the regular season.

The Feldkirch won at the Pranives of Wolkenstein for 3:2 scoring the decisive goals against the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it in the last 10 minutes of the game. For Feldkirch it was the third consecutive victory as the Austrian team confirmed in seventh position. The Gherdeina remained in eleventh position and wasted a great opportunity to overcome the Cortina (defeated at Collalbo) in the standings. The home team couldn’t have Brugnoli, Eastman and Simon Vinatzer for this game. Sullmann played in defense tonight instead of Eastman. The game started very slowly in its beginning but then with the passing of the minutes it became intense and hard-fought. After the first powerplay of the visitors, the VEU took the lead with Steven Birnstill (13.) and this will also be the only goal of the first period. In the second period the game was in balance but then minute after minute the Gherdeina changed gear. After 33 minutes the home team drew with a shot of Roupec from the distance deflected by Colin Long. Then Samuel Moroder scored in the counterattack. The match remained on 2:1 for the Furies until the third period when Steven Birnstill again draws and always in powerplay (51.). The VEU then achieves the 3:2 with Kevin Puschnik after a mistake in the change of lines of the Furies(53.) This goal will no longer be recovered by Gherdeina despite some good opportunity and Feldkirch that won 3:2.
