Ritten and Juniors extend successful run

League leader Rittner Buam SkyAlps won clearly with 8:1 against the Steel Wings LINZ AG and celebrated their ninth win in a row. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors, who are tied on points with Zell am See in third place in the table, celebrated their seventh win in a row. On Thursday, the Juniors defeated the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 4:1. In the Alps Hockey League final rematch of last season, defending champion HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice defeated S.G. Cortina Hafro with 4:3. It was the first win for the Slovenians after three consecutive defeats. The EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel, the HC Gherdeina valgardena.it and the SHC Fassa Falcons also celebrated a victory.

9th win in a row for Ritten
The Rittner Buam SkyAlps won clearly with 8:1 at the Steel Wings LINZ AG and celebrated their ninth victory in a row. The Alps Hockey League premiere champion are now three points ahead of Zell am See and the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in first place in the table. The Buam excelled against the Steel Wings, especially in the final period. The home side from Linz even took the lead at the start of the game. However, Ritten was able to turn the game around in the first period. The team of the hour added two more goals in the second period. They went into the final period with a 4:1 lead, in which they added four more goals. In the first game of the season against Linz, who are twelfth in the table, Ritten, who have been unbeaten since October 21, won by the narrow margin of 3:2.

Jesenice narrowly won against Cortina
In the final rematch between HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice and S.G. Cortina Hafro, defending champion Jesenice celebrated a narrow 4:3 home win. It was the first AHL win for the Slovenians after three consecutive defeats. Cortina, on the other hand, was beaten for the third time in a row. In a very balanced match, the visitors from Italy took the lead both (1:0 and 2:1). However, two powerplay goals from Tadej Cimcar and Zan Jezovsek enabled Jesenice to turn the game around in the second period. In the final period, Riccardo Lacedelli equalized in the power play in the 45th minute before Tadej Cimzar scored his second goal of the evening in the 57th minute to make the final score 4:3. These were the 31-year-old center's fifth and sixth goals of the season. Cortina narrowly won the first duel of the season 6:5. Jesenice are still fifth in the table with 39 points, Cortina are seventh with 32 points.

Seventh win in a row for the Juniors
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors could not be defeated by the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers and celebrated their seventh win in a row. Player of the match was Daniel Murnieks, who made it 2:0 for the home side with a double strike in the second period. The 21-year-old Latvian scored the third and fourth goals for the young Bulls. At the start of the final period, Unterland, who conceded their fifth defeat in the last six games, were able to reduce the score to 1:2. Goals from 17-year-old Elias Pul (49.) and 18-year-old Vadim Schreiner (56./PP1) gave the Juniors, who are already third in the table with 42 points, a 4:1 victory in the end. The Cavaliers have 26 points and are tenth. Both teams faced each other for the first time this season. It was the eighth win for the Red Bull Hockey Juniors in their ninth AHL duel.

Home victories for Gherdeina, Kitzbühel and Fassa
The HC Gherdeina valgardena.it ended the run of success of the HC Meran/o Pircher, who were beaten for the first time after three victories in a row. For Gherdeina, on the other hand, the 6:3 home win was their third victory in the last five games. There was a premiere for the „Furie“ in front of their home crowd, as GHE won at home after regulation for the first time this season. In a very balanced match, Merano first took a 1:0 lead and then managed to reduce the deficit to 1:2, 2:3 and 3:4. Kevin Schulze scored to make it 5:3 in the 49th minute. Simon Pitschieler finally scored the final decision with an empty-net goal two minutes before the end of the game.

After three defeats in a row, the EC Die Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel managed to beat the HK RST Pellet Celje with 6:4. For the Slovenians, on the other hand, it was their fifth defeat in a row. In the meantime, the Eagles were already leading 5:0 in the first AHL duel between the two teams. However, Celje scored twice in the final minute of the second period to reduce the deficit to 2:5. The 15th-placed team in the table even managed to make it 3:5 right at the start of the final period. The defence of the eight-placed team from Kitzbühel then proved stable again and did not concede another goal until 53 seconds before the end of the game. In offense, Waltteri Lehtonen made it 6:3 two minutes before the end of the game. Nik Sivornik scored in the 60th minute to make the final score from Celje's point of view.

The SHC Fassa Falcons also won 4:3/SO against the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan. The Falcons were already leading 3:0 after 31 minutes, but the Broncos managed to close the gap to 2:3 in the second period. Just under three minutes before the end of the third period, Derek Topatigh finally scored to tie the game. However, the home side finally prevailed in the shootout. Edgar De Toni was the only player to convert his penalty. It was Fassa's second win in a row. The Italians are thirteenth in the table. Vipiteno was beaten for the first time after two wins in a row and are in fourth place.
