Ritten and Pustertal ensure revenge | Cortina confirms success

Master Round:

Pustertal with successful revenge against Asiago
After the first defeat in the Master Round the HC Pustertal celebrated a full success again. Only three days ago the wolves had to stop their successful run against Asiago. On Tuesday Pustertal presented itself again more biting and efficient. Already in the first period the hosts took a 2-0 lead. After a goalless middle third Asiago shortened right at the beginning of the final section. But Pustertal kept their nerves and Tommaso Travers made the preliminary decision. Pustertal finally won 4-1 and increased the advantage to Cortina to five.

Ritten takes revenge
On Saturday the Rittner Buam were defeated in the Overtime by HK SZ Olimpija Ljubljana. It should be just as exciting three days later in the second leg. Up to the 52nd minute the Slovenians seemed to confirm their success and were already leading 2-0, but the Buam did not get stuck and equalised with two goals within two and a half minutes. In extra time, no team could force the decision. In the shootout, however, Matthew Lane kept his nerve and scored the decisive penalty.

Cortina confirms success in shootout
The S.G. Cortina Hafro celebrated the second success against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice within three days. However, in the home game, without spectators, the northern Italians needed extra time this time. Cortina had a better start to the match and took a 2:1 lead in the first period. Jesenice equalized three more times as the match progressed. The last time just three seconds before the supposed final siren in the person of Mirko Djumic. In extra time, Cortina had the better end - Nicholas Trecapelli made the decision.

Qualification Round A:

Klagenfurt overtakes Vienna
The EC-KAC 2 won the first qualification round duel against the Vienna Capitals Silver with 3:0 and overtook them in the table. Right from the beginning the Klagenfurt players presented themselves more dangerous and took a 2-0 lead already in the first section. Also in the second section the Carinthians were the efficient team - Valentin Ploner created a 3-0 lead early in the middle third. The Viennese tried to fight their way into the game in the second section, but failed again and again to KAC-closer Jakob Holzer. KAC 2 finally won 3:0 and passed the red lantern of the Qualification Round A to the Viennese.

Juniors continued successful run
The Red Bull Hockey Juniors also continued their successful run against EHC Lustenau. The young team from Salzburg celebrated its sixth full success in the sixth game of Quali Round A and continues to draw lonely circles at the top of the table. EHC Lustenau, who started from pole position in the Quali Round, already had to accept its fifth defeat. In the first period the Vorarlbergers still had more chances in front of goal. However, efficient Salzburg took the lead. But Lustenau equalized in the first period. From the 35th minute on, the Salzburg Express really got going and by the 50th minute the final score was 5:1.

HC Gherdeina becomes the first chaser
In the duel between the two chasers for the Red Bull Hockey Juniors, HC Gherdeina beat the Wipptal Sterzing Broncos 2-0. Gröden was more dangerous right from the start. The Broncos goalkeeper Jason Bacashihua had his hands full from the beginning. In the 16th minute. In the 16th minute he had to admit defeat for the first time. Also in the second period the home team remained the dominating team and doubled the lead. The Broncos managed to catch up twice more in the third section. But Gherdeina finally won 4:2.

Qualification Round B:

kITZBÜHEL caused leader Feldkirch a stumble
The EC Stadtwerke Kitzbühel defeated the VEU Feldkirch 4:3 in the Penalty Shootout and inflicted the first defeat in the Qualification Round B on the Vorarlbergers. But the VEU still got the much better start. Until the 21st minute the guests gained a 3:0 lead. Kitzbühel proved to have comeback qualities and came close to 2:3 in the second period. Three and a half minutes before the buzzer, Adam Havlik equalized. After a goalless extra time, the Eagles prevailed in the penaltyshootout.

Polar bears prevail in duel with neighbours
EK Zeller Eisbären celebrated a hard-fought overtime victory against EC Bregenzerwald. After a goalless third at the start, it was the Eisbären's turn next and they took a 2-0 lead. But in the final section Bregenzerwald struck back once again. After the early goal Giovanni Vogelaar forced the overtime 16 seconds before the buzzer. In this arrived but Benjamin Lanzinger provided for the extra point of the Zeller.
