In the Alps Hockey League, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps continued their winning run on Saturday with an overtime triumph against league leaders Red Bull Hockey Juniors, climbing to fifth place in the standings. While Zell am See took revenge in Merano for their loss in the first clash of the season, top teams Sisak and Kitzbühel both suffered defeats.
Red Bull Hockey Juniors – Rittner Buam SkyAlps 2:3 OT (2:0, 0:1, 0:1)
Ritten ended Salzburg’s winning streak with a comeback victory. The Juniors started strong, taking a 2–0 lead into the first intermission. The South Tyroleans cut the deficit in the middle frame, and Crespi tied the game 2–2 on the power play in the 42nd minute. In overtime, Kostner sealed the win. With their fifth consecutive victory, Ritten climbed to fifth place and celebrated their fourth straight win against the Red Bulls.
HDD Jesenice – KHL Sisak 6:3 (3:0, 2:3, 1:0)
After two losses, Jesenice returned to the win column. The Slovenians laid the foundation in the opening frame, dominating it 3–0. Midway through the game, the home side extended the lead to 5–0 before Sisak fought back to make it 3–5 by the second intermission. Koblar’s power-play goal in the 52nd minute put the game out of reach and set the final score.
HC Meran/o Pircher – EK Die Zeller Eisbären 3:5 (1:3, 1:1, 1:1)
Zell am See took revenge for their defeat in the first meeting of the season. Meran opened the scoring early, but the reigning champions turned the game around before the first break to lead 3–1. After 40 minutes, the Pinzgauers still held a two-goal advantage (4–2). Meran pulled one back early in the final period, but Rupnik’s goal secured a 5–3 win — Zell’s third victory in a row.
Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan – Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel 6:3 (2:2, 3:1, 1:0)
Kitzbühel controlled the first period but failed to capitalize on its chances. The Tirol side led twice in the first frame and once more in the second, but Sterzing equalized each time. With a quick double strike, the Broncos turned the game in their favor. Sproviero — like Livingston with a brace — added an empty-netter to make it 6–3. After two defeats, Sterzing celebrated a welcome win.
EC Bregenzerwald – HC Migross Asiago 8:3 (0:0, 3:3, 5:0)
Fans in Dornbirn were treated to a goal-filled spectacle. After a scoreless first period, the teams combined for eleven goals. Asiago took a 3–1 lead midway through, but Bregenzerwald tied it before the second intermission. The hosts then exploded in the third, scoring five goals in just eight minutes. A string of penalties doomed Asiago, who conceded five goals shorthanded. Posch and Toivo Laaksonen each recorded a brace for Bregenzerwald.
HC Gherdeina valgardena.it – Hockey Unterland Cavaliers 6:5 SO (2:1, 2:2, 2:3)
Gherdeina and Unterland engaged in a thrilling back-and-forth battle. The Furie jumped out to a 2–0 lead, but the Cavaliers equalized in the second period — and after falling behind again, they tied it once more. Gherdeina regained the lead 6–5 in the 59th minute, only for Kaufmann to even it again 14 seconds before the buzzer. In the shootout, Deluca clinched the win for the home team.
