Ritten gets first away victory in final series

On Saturday Rittner Buam took a 3:1 lead in Sky Alps Hockey League final series. The Italian champion earned the first away win in the series at Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. With his third goal of the night Thomas Spinell decided the game in overtime for a 4:3 Ritten victory. The „Buam“ have the first chance to claim the championship title at home on Monday.

The two teams started out with very determined pace. The Ritten Buam put a lot of pressure in the third opponent although the first real opportunity was for Kris Kolanos, after just over two minutes of the game. The forward arrived late to touch a well-served puck of Giulio Scandella. Just Scandella for this match moved in the first line: this was the first of the evening for Asiago, while coach Lehtonen confirmed the usual four lines. After 6 minutes Ritten found a good chance with a breakaway of Alex Frei but the puck come out slightly. A minute later the action was repeated. Thomas Spinell was ready to put in the net the rebound of Cloutier after a shot of Ivan Tauferer. Minutes after minutes the Asiago tried to answer. After a good powerplay, the home team made the tie. After a big shot of Kolanos, Giulio Scandella put the puck in the back of the net. The guests, however, maintained its efforts to find a new advantage.  Tommaso Traversa stopped a puck and then served a great pass to Thomas Spinell that should only put the puck behind Cloutier. The first period ended with advantage of Ritten (2:1). During the the second period the intensity of the operation appeared to be falling slightly, although it was always the Ritten to appear more dangerous but although Asiago made two chances with duo Nigro-Kolanos. The two teams skated continuously, with the hosts still built a couple of dangers actions. Josè Magnabosco scored the tie (2:2) after unprententious shot that surprised Killeen after 35 minutes. The game keept an high rythm until the end of 2th period. The two was in tie after 40 minutes of games (2:2). During the third period the two teams returned to play with a lot of intensity. Both teams built a several chances. In the middle, there was a flash of Kolanos that with a fast action put the puck under the crossbar for the first advantage of Ritten in the match (3:2) during a shorthanded action. Also in this case, the netminder of Buam was not so ready.  But Janis Sprutks, after two minutes, put the puck in the net after a good pass of Thomas Spinell during a powerplay action after two minutes for slashing against Kolanos. In the last minutes of third period no team can overtake the other and was overtime after the result of 3:3.  After six minutes of overtime there was a last action of the match: Traversa passed for Thomas Spinell that realized the game winning goal (4:3) for the Rittner Buam. Thomas Spinell made his hat-trick. The guests earned the third victory in the series of final and next Monday in the Ritten Arena they will can earn the title of the AHL in case of win.
