835 fans travelled to the Stadio Olympico in Cortina for the second final game of the Alps Hockey League. However, the home team had to concede an early deficit, as the Rittner Buam SkyAlps took the lead in the second minute: The South Tyroleans benefited from a turnover in the neutral zone, got a 3-on-2 and Tobias Graf (3.) scored. S.G. Cortina Hafro later had more of the play and equalized on power play: Francesco Adami (15./PP1) converted a rebound. But the visitors had the perfect answer less than a minute later with Manuel Öhler (16.) beating two opponents after a great assist.

The second period got off to a delayed start due to problems on the ice surface: Cortina seemed to get more and more of a grip as the game progressed – before turning the game around with two quick goals: Gregory Di Tomaso (33./PP1) capitalized on another powerplay after getting a free shot from the left. 43 seconds later, the puck moved well, Colli with the blueliner and Luca Barnabo with the perfect deflection. But Ritten did not give up and equalized thanks to a powerplay too, as Kevin Fink (38./PP1) pushed a rebound over the line.

Cortina again piled on the pressure in the final period and scored their next goal with numerical superiority: The home team consistently managed to keep the puck in the offensive zone - before Di Tomaso (51./PP1) recorded his brace. However, Ritten managed to equalize with 22 seconds remaining: With six men on the ice, the "Buam" stopped Cortina's breakaway, got a 2-on-1 and Max Coatta (60.) scored the equalizer to send the game into overtime.

It went back and forth there at first, before Cortina again found a number of powerplay sequences. This time, however, the box play of the "Buam" remained compact and did not allow any more goals. The South Tyroleans themselves were not much in the offensive zone in overtime. Nevertheless, they scored the decisive goal through Alan Lobis in the 94th minute.
