The Rittner Buam SkyAlps started the intermediate round with a 3–2 victory over EC Bregenzerwald on Wednesday. After four straight league defeats, the South Tyroleans returned to winning ways in their first game under new head coach Mike Halmo and took the lead in Qualification Round B.

After a balanced opening phase, the visitors went ahead ten minutes in when Kostner forced the puck over the line – the only goal of the first period. Shortly after the restart, Haiböck's deflection found the back of the net. The hosts failed to capitalize on two power plays before Fink restored Ritten’s lead by scoring on a rebound. In the 32nd minute, the South Tyroleans made use of their first power play opportunity as Alderson blasted a shot to make it 3–1. Bergström cut the deficit late in the middle period, finding the net from the slot into the short corner. In their first outing under Halmo, the visitors managed to hold on to their narrow lead until the end – also because EC Bregenzerwald couldn’t make the most of their chances. All four season meetings between the two sides have now ended with away wins, and Ritten climbed to the top of the Qualification Round B standings.
