Ritten signs Mike Halmo as Assistant Coach | New arrivals at six AHL teams

There’s been plenty of activity on the Alps Hockey League transfer market in recent days. The Rittner Buam SkyAlps have announced the signing of Mike Halmo. The 34-year-old Canadian, who spent six seasons with HCB Südtirol Alperia in the win2day ICE Hockey League, has retired from professional hockey and will now serve as Assistant Coach for the "Buam". In total, six teams have announced new additions to their rosters.

Halmo, a key player for Bolzano in recent years, is staying in the game: alongside his new role as Assistant Coach for Ritten, he will also take over as Head Coach of the U19 Junior Buam.

Gherdëina announces first new signings
HC Gherdeina valgardena.it has confirmed its first two signings for the upcoming season: Sebastiano Soracreppa and Martin Castlunger. Following Davide Schiavone and Stephan Deluca, they become the next pair of players with roots in the Fassa Falcons system to join the team from Gherdeina.

25-year-old defenseman Soracreppa came through the Falcons' youth program and played there until 2020. He then spent four seasons with HC Thurgau in Switzerland, appearing in nearly 200 games, before moving to the Rittner Buam in 2023, where he tallied 16 points as a defenseman. Castlunger, also a Falcons product, made his Serie A debut at 16 and captained the team for six seasons. After a year in the ICEHL with Asiago, the 31-year-old joined Cortina in 2023.

Gherdëina has also extended contracts with Julian Senoner and Hannes Kasslatter.

Sisak signs South Korean forward
KHL Sisak has bolstered its roster ahead of its second AHL season by signing 21-year-old South Korean forward Sangyeob Kim, who spent the past two seasons playing in the USA.

Engelhart signs permanently with Kitzbühel
Jakob Engelhart (20) will continue with the Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. The forward played on loan last season from the Graz99ers, but the move has now been made permanent. Defenseman Patrick Bruckner (20) will also return for his second full season with the team.

Merano signs experienced Danish forward
HC Meran/o Pircher has signed 30-year-old forward Christopher Frederiksen, a Danish champion in 2018 who played the past seven seasons for the Frederikshavn White Hawks. Meran/o also extended its contract with David Trivellato.

Zell am See adds young forward
Reigning champion EK Die Zeller Eisbären has signed 19-year-old Alexander Rupnik, who most recently played in Swiss junior leagues. Prior to that, he was part of his hometown club Villach. Fredrik Widén and Alois Schultes will also continue with the team.

Two new signings and eleven extensions in Cortina
S.G. Cortina Hafro has also been active in the transfer market. The team added Nicolò Remolato (from Unterland) and Rosario Tolomelli, who returns after one season in Sweden (SDE HF). 19-year-old Remolato had previously spent his entire career with Neumarkt.

In addition, Cortina has extended the contracts of eleven players: Tommaso Alverà, Tommaso Levis, Marco Sanna, Giovanni Toffoli, Renato Talamini, Andrea De Luca, Giorgio Panciera, Luca Barnabò, Filippo Pompanin, Giacomo Lacedelli, and Aldo Pompanin.
