The Rittner Buam SkyAlps shone on Epiphany Day with an impressive 7-1 blowout victory over league leader Jesenice. Additionally, S.G. Cortina Hafro celebrated a clear win in the top-5 duel against EK Die Zeller Eisbären. This victory not only solidified Cortina's crucial fifth place but also narrowed the gap to the top four. On Monday evening, Kitzbühel, Meran/o, Unterland, and Celje also claimed victories.

Ritten Thrashes League Leader Jesenice
The Rittner Buam SkyAlps celebrated an impressive 7-1 win against HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice on Monday evening in the Ritten Arena. Manuel Öhler was the star of the match, shining with a hat-trick. After a tightly contested first period, which ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts, Ritten dominated the second period and put Jesenice under increasing pressure. The hosts showed no weaknesses in the final period either. Despite conceding a late goal, the Buam delivered a strong team performance, spectacular goals, and outstanding defense led by goalie Florian Plattner. In the standings, second-placed Ritten reduced the gap to league leader Jesenice to five points.

Cortina Closes in on the Top 4
S.G. Cortina Hafro recorded a 4-1 victory over the higher-ranked EK Die Zeller Eisbären. This win puts the Italian team just four points behind the fourth-placed Kitzbühel Eagles and five points behind Zell's Eisbären. Cortina started the game energetically, taking the lead in the fifth minute. In the second period, the hosts extended their lead to 3-0 with two powerplay goals. Cortina ultimately celebrated a 5-1 win, solidifying their position in the top five.

Kitzbühel Battles to OT Win
The EC Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel fought their way to a 2-1 overtime victory against the WSV Sterzing Broncos. After a goalless first period, where Kitzbühel dominated, Sterzing took the lead in the 39th minute against the run of play. The Eagles were repeatedly denied by Sterzing's goalie Dominik Groh, who delivered an outstanding performance for 59 minutes and came close to a shutout. Henrik Hochfilzer finally broke through in the final minute to send the game to overtime. In the 65th minute, Paolo Wieltschnig scored on the power play, securing the extra point for Kitzbühel just seven seconds before a potential shootout.

HC Meran/o Draws Level with Sisak
HC Merano won the matchup between table neighbors against KHL Sisak with a 3-2 victory. After an evenly matched first period with one goal apiece, Sisak took the lead in the second period. Meran/o equalized early in the final period, with the decisive 3-2 goal coming in the final minute. This win allowed Meran/o to draw level on points with Sisak, who remains in seventh place.

Unterland Ends Losing Streak
The HC Unterland Cavaliers delivered a solid performance against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it. Although the visitors from Gröden took an early lead, the Cavaliers turned the game around with a quick double strike in the first period. Unterland continued to extend their lead throughout the game and secured a 5-2 victory, ending their four-game losing streak.

Celje Keeps Bregenzerwald at Bay
HK Celje celebrated a 3-2 home victory against table neighbor Bregenzerwald on Monday evening. The visitors from Vorarlberg had a lightning start, scoring within the first minute. However, Celje turned the game around in the first period, heading into the break with a 2-1 lead. After a goalless second period, Danil Tsarkovskyi’s second goal of the night sealed the deal. Although Bregenzerwald scored a late goal just seconds before the final whistle, they were unable to equalize.
