Buam rally past Gherdeina – Kitzbühel pull away from Sisak
The Rittner Buam trailed the defending champions after the first period and needed a long time to turn the derby around. Ritten outshot their opponents 44-24, and Gherdeina goaltender Cody Porter kept his team in the game with 42 saves. The equalizer came on the power play in the second period, before Adam Capannelli scored the winner in the 49th minute. A crowd of 520 watched the derby at the Ritten Arena. Gherdeina are still waiting for their first regulation win.

Kitzbühel never trailed against Sisak. With shots even at 40 apiece, it was a tight game that Clemens Krainz decided with a power-play goal for 3-1 in the 54th minute. The Croatians pulled within one with 91 seconds left but got no closer. With the win, Kitzbühel extended their lead over Sisak.

Merano win in Neumarkt – Jesenice turn it around in Sterzing
Merano picked up their fourth straight win against the Cavaliers. Michael Levin and Jakob Fuchs were involved in both goals and made it 2-0 by the 24th minute. Unterland got within one in the second period, but Merano goaltender Thomas Couture allowed only that single goal on 30 shots. With 14 points, last season’s runners-up moved past Zell am See into fourth place, while Unterland have now gone five games without a win.

Jesenice trailed the last-placed Broncos after the first period but turned the game around with three goals in the middle frame. Right after the second intermission, the Slovenians made it 4-1 and had the game under control. Two late Broncos goals did not change the outcome. Jesenice clearly controlled play, outshooting their hosts 38-23. The Broncos’ only win of the season remains a shootout victory over Gherdeina.

Salzburg win in Cortina
The Salzburg side took the lead in Cortina after just 77 seconds. Cortina tied it on the power play in the second period before Antons Macijevskis scored the winner in the 53rd minute. An empty-net goal late in the game sealed the final score. Salzburg goaltender Luca Haitzmann played a big part in the win, stopping 28 of 29 shots. Cortina are still looking for their first regulation win.
