Fehérvár AV19 ends defeat series
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 won 4-1 against the Black Wings in 1992. With their first victory after five defeats, the Hungarians were able to shorten the gap to the top 3 teams again. The Linz-based team suffered their second defeat against Fehérvár this season, and it was even their fourth defeat in a row against the Hungarians across the season. Fehérvár got off to a good start and took a quick 2-0 lead. The Black Wings 1992 were able to shorten still in the first period, but then they were unable to score. While the Hungarians are only one point behind the third-placed EC-KAC after the win, Linz remain in the last place in the standings. The gap to the tenth-placed EC Grand Immo VSV is already five points.

Bolzano expands lead in the standings
The HCB Südtirol Alperia extended its lead in the standings with a clear victory over the HC TIWAG Innsbruck. After Innsbruck had played five away matches in a row and finished them with a positive record, they had to accept defeat again in their first home match. The game started with a real scoring streak. Almost every minute the cracks had reason to celebrate - mostly for the Foxes, who won the first period 5:2. After that both goals seemed to be nailed down and the game ended with the same result as in the starting third. Brett Findlay scored twice for the South Tyroleans. In the standings Bolzano is now three points ahead of the second-placed Viennese, who however played two games more.

Peter Draisaitl celebrates ICE debut victory
In the first game of Peter Draisaitl as Head Coach of the iClinic Bratislava Capitals the Slovaks celebrated a hard-fought 6:4 victory. The Capitals were able to take the lead against EC Grand Immo VSV in numerous situations, but the eagles always had the right answer at hand until 3:3. Ten minutes before the end, the Slovaks managed to gain a two-goal advantage for the first time, which the Villach-based team could not catch up on. Brock Higgs and Jordan Caron both scored twice. Michael Raffl scored his first goal in the bet-at-home ICE Hockey League, but could not avert defeat. After their success, the Capitals were able to overtake their table neighbors in a direct duel. It was the Capitals' second win against Villach in the current season.
