The Red Bull Hockey Juniors currently sit sixth in the standings with eight points, while defending champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären are eighth with six points. The team from Pinzgau has only played three times this season – winning two games – with their only loss coming in Gherdeina. The Juniors have won two of their five games so far and suffered just one regulation loss. Last season, Zell am See took two of the three derby clashes.

Before the game in Salzburg, the “Polar Bears” strengthened their roster with Blaz Tomazevic, who replaces the injured Nick Huard. The 27-year-old already appeared three times this season for Jesenice and previously played three years in the win2day ICE Hockey League for Villach and Ljubljana. Tomazevic has signed a contract until mid-November, after which both sides will decide on a possible extension.

South Tyrol Derby: Vipiteno vs. Gherdeina
A top matchup and local derby awaits on Thursday in Sterzing, where the second-placed Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan, level on points with leaders Sisak, host fifth-placed HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, who trail by just two points. Gherdeina are in excellent form, having won their last two home games against Zell am See (3–1) and Sisak (2–1). Away from home, however, the “Furies” have lost both of their games so far. Vipiteno has suffered only one defeat this season – a close 2–3 loss at the defending champions in Zell am See – and won all four other matches. The two teams already met twice during preseason, both times ending in clear victories for Vipiteno (5–2, 7–3). Last season, the Broncos won four of their five encounters.

Ritten hosts League leaders Sisak
Another top clash sees Rittner Buam SkyAlps take on league leaders KHL Sisak. The Croatian side holds a one-point lead over Ritten, who have played one more game. On Tuesday, Ritten celebrated a 3–0 home win against Jesenice – their third victory in six games – while Sisak suffered their first defeat of the season in Gherdeina (1–2). With 20 goals scored, Sisak currently has the best offense in the league alongside Kitzbühel, while their seven goals against mark the league’s strongest defense. Ritten has scored 17 times and conceded 14 goals. Last season, Ritten won two of the three head-to-head games.

Cortina vs. Merano – last match on Thursday
The fourth and final Thursday game features S.G. Cortina Hafro hosting HC Meran/o Pircher. It’s the seventh vs. eleventh in the standings, with only three points separating the two. The teams already met in the season opener in Merano, where Cortina claimed a 3–0 win. Both sides are coming off losses – Cortina fell 3–4 in Vipiteno, while Merano suffered a 2–5 defeat in Bregenzerwald, marking their second consecutive loss.

Friday action: Jesenice hosts Kitzbühel
Friday’s schedule features two games, starting with HDD Jesenice hosting the Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel. Last season’s finalists from Slovenia have struggled to find form, winning just one of their five games so far. They fell 0–3 in Ritten on Tuesday. Kitzbühel, on the other hand, started strong with three wins in five games, collecting ten points to sit in third place. The Tyroleans celebrated a 5–2 home win against Ritten last weekend but are still searching for their first road victory this season (1–2 @ECB, 2–3/SO @SGC).

Asiago vs. Bregenzerwald – Closing out Round 6
Round 6 concludes with HC Migross Asiago hosting EC Bregenzerwald. Earlier this week, Asiago celebrated a 4–1 home win over Unterland – their second victory of the season. Bregenzerwald has also collected two wins so far, both at home, against Merano (5–2) and Kitzbühel (2–1). The team from Vorarlberg currently sits ninth in the standings, one place ahead of Asiago.
