Sabres and Eagles celebrate home victories

In the win2day Austrian Women's Hockey League, the Sabres St. Pölten and DEC Salzburg Eagles were victorious in front of their home crowd on Friday. While the Sabres beat the EC Graz Huskies 5:2, Salzburg won against the Lakers Kärnten 2:1. HK PSRZ Bratislava also celebrated an away win at Tauron Metropolia Silesia in the European Women's Hockey League.

For the Sabres St. Pölten, it was their second win in the second game of the win2day Austrian Women's Hockey League. The Lower Austrians are in second place in the table with six points. The EC Graz Huskies have already been in action five times and have only won one game so far. They are fourth in the table with three points. On Friday evening, the hosts from St. Pölten took the lead after just 25 seconds. It then took until the 29th minute before they increased the lead to 2:0. First win of the season for Eagles

For the Lakers, on the other hand, it was their third defeat in five games. The Carinthians are in third place in the table. They conceded the first goal against the Eagles in the 24th minute, the hosts increased the lead to 2:0 in the 51st minute, before the Carinthians managed to equalize a short time later. However, they were subsequently denied an equalizer.

EWHL: Victory for Bratislava
One game took place in the European Women's Hockey League on Friday. Second-placed HK PSRZ Bratislava won 3:0 at ninth-placed Tauron Metropolia Silesia.
