EC Red Bull Salzburg has been part of the multinational ICE Hockey League since the 2004/05 season. Salzburg finished the inaugural season in seventh and therefore last place. The team clearly missed out on the play-offs, which were only reserved for the top four teams at the time. However, in the following season, the then young ice hockey project began an impressive run of success that is still unparalleled today. Since the 2005/06 season, EC Red Bull Salzburg has continuously qualified for the playoffs.

19 playoff qualifications in a row
On Sunday, in the last game before the international break, EC Red Bull Salzburg secured its 19th consecutive playoff qualification by beating Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. Only the spusu Vienna Capitals have achieved this number of consecutive playoff appearances to date, but their streak could soon come to an end. Should this happen, EC Red Bull Salzburg would be the sole record holder for the still running most consecutive playoff appearances.

10 semi-final appearances in a row
This statistic becomes even more impressive when you look at the successes in the playoffs themselves. In the last ten seasons (with the exception of the canceled 2020 playoffs), EC Red Bull Salzburg has reached at least the semi-finals - the longest semi-final run ever achieved by a team in the history of the multinational league. Salzburg has also been crowned champions eight times since the league was founded - more than any other team.

Red Bulls strive for the first ever "three-peat"
Another milestone that no other team in the win2day ICE Hockey League has achieved so far is the so-called "three-peat" - i.e. three championship titles in a row. EC Red Bull Salzburg's eight championship titles to date have all been in two-peat series. After defending the title last season, the Red Bulls are now aiming for the first "three-peat" in league history this season.
