Master Round:

Cortina catches up to leader Pustertal
HC Pustertal already had the chance to secure first place in today's penultimate round and thus the first pick right for the playoffs. But pursuer Cortina Hafro defeated the leader of the standings 3-2 and thus brought itself into the race for first place. The better start was made by the home side, who took the lead in the eighth minute. Even at the beginning of the middle third, when Roland Hofer scored the 2-0, it still looked as if the wolves could secure the first place. But then the challengers from Cortina shifted up a gear. Still in the middle third the guests equalized. In the final section Nick Bruneteau made the decision. Cortina shortened the gap in the standings to one point on Pustertal. In order to still reach the first place, Cortina has to conquer two points more on Wednesday against the Rittner Buam than Pustertal against Jesenice.

Jesenice celebrates victory in Slovenian derby and overtakes Ljubljana
The HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice celebrated a 1-0 success in the Slovenian derby and is once again fully in the race for home advantage in the quarter finals. In a game marked by strong goalies, the hosts from Jesenice seemed to be a little better in the game from the beginning. For 47 minutes there were good chances on both sides but no goals. Andrej Herbar broke the goal barrier and put his team in the lead in the third period. Jesenice kept their nerves and defended the lead. Ziga Kogovsek also held on to the final offensive of Ljubljana and secured the three points. With this victory, Jesenice overtook Ljubljana in the table and is currently in fourth place.

Asiago defeated Ritten in overtime
Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey celebrated an overtime victory over the Rittner Buam and brought themselves back into the race for home rights for the quarter finals. But the Buam still had the better start. Simon Kostner gave the guests the lead in the seventh minute. After 27 more goalless minutes the Rittner Buam managed to equalize. In the further course of the match, the two goalies were again in the centre of attention and did not allow any more goals in regular time. In overtime Marco Rosa made the decision.

Qualification Round A:
Sterzing Broncos drop out of the playoff race despite winning
The Wipptal Sterzing Broncos drop out of the race for the playoffs despite an 8:4 victory over the EC KAC 2. In a balanced third from the start the guests took the lead in the 14th minute. Also at the beginning of the second section the Broncos acted more efficiently and doubled the lead. KAC was able to shorten the lead promptly, but Sterzing still managed to maintain the old lead in the middle third. Shortly before the end of the second period the guests even increased the lead to 4:1 . A goal-rich final third followed. But the Klagenfurt team was not able to shorten the gap significantly. The Broncos finally won 8:4. Marco Richter (KA2) and Slater Doggett each scored a hat trick.

Lustenau celebrates third success in the Qualification Round
After a false start in the Qualifcation Round, EHC Lustenau celebrated its second victory in a row for the first time. HC Gherdeina had to accept the second defeat in a row. The hosts acted much more efficiently in the starting third. Despite less chances Gherdeina gained a 2-0 lead. EHC Lustenau started a run of attack on Gherdeina's goal in the middle third and shortened the gap. Lustenau picked up where they left off in the second period and took the lead. Lustenau finally won 4:3 and secured fourth place in Qualification Round A.

Red Bull Hockey Juniors takes playoff ticket
In the third attempt it worked out for the Red Bull Hockey Juniors. After two defeats in a row, the Juniors secured their third play-off appearance in a row with a 5-2 win over the Vienna Capitals Silver. After Salzburg took the lead after just over a minute, the Viennese struck back twice. The Juniors equalized in the second third. In the final section, the Klagenfurters were unable to keep up the pace of Salzburg. The Juniors finally won 5:2 and can therefore no longer be displaced from first place in the Qualification Round A.

Qualification Round B:

After an even and goalless third at the start, Kitzbühel took control of the match. Two goals in the middle section put the Eagles on the winning track. Two more goals in the final section brought the final score of 4-0.

Feldkirch completes playoff field
