Salzburg and KAC increase lead in standings

The top-duo consisting of the EC Red Bull Salzburg and the EC-KAC increased the lead to the first follower. The KAC already celebrated the fourth shutout in a row. The first persecutor of the leaders are the spusu Vienna Capitals who captured the third place on Sunday. The HC Orli Znojmo extended the winning streak to six and found the connection to the top-5 again.

Fourth consecutive shutout brings 200th road win of KAC
The EC-KAC didn’t receive a single goals since 247 minutes and 40 seconds. This is the first team in history of Erste Bank Eishockey a team booked four consecutive shutouts. The record by minutes still has the HC Tiroler Wasserkraft Innsbruck who didn’t receice a single goal within 250 minutes. The 3:0 against the HCB Südtirol Alperia was also the 200th road win of the KAC in history of Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. The advantage of the HCB Südtirol shrinked down to one point to the sixths placed HC Orli Znojmo.

Salzburg defends lead
The EC Red Bull Salzburg defended the lead in the standings with a 3:0 success against the Liwest Black Wings Linz. For Linz Thomas Stroj was the starting goalkeeper, as the David Kickert and Paul Mocher missed the game because of injuries. The goalies of both teams stood in focus right from the beginning and shined with good saves. Chad Kolarik opened the scoring at the end of the first period. The Red Bulls acted much more efficiently in the following and celebrated a 4:1 success. The Black Wings dropped to the fourth place in standings.

Caps are the first persecutors of the top-duel
The spusu Vienna Capitals had to compensate some missing players and did a good job doing so. The 4:1 win against the EC Panaceo VSV concludes a six-point-weekend. Vienna built a 2:0 leasd in the first two periods, but the Panaceo managed to narrow the gap to one in the final period. The answer of the Caps came quickly – after 39 seconds Ty Loney recreated the two goal lead. Riley Holzapfel brought the decision wit the empty netter.

Znojmo connects with top-5
The HC Orli Znojmo connected with the top-5 agains. After five consecutive wins the Czechs are trailing by one point only to the top-5. Znojmo had the better start into the game and created a 2:0 lead after a bit more than three minutes and till the end of the first period even 3:0. The Bulldogs fought back to 2:3 in the second period. The teams delivered a tough battle in the final period, but Dornbirn couldn’t force the overtime anymore. Beranek scored the empty netter and created the result of 4:2.

Fehérvár überholt 99ers durch Yogan Hattrick
Hydro Fehérvár AV19 overtook the Moser Medical Graz99ers in the standings after a 4:1 win in the direct duel. The 99ers had to take the sevenths defeat in the past eight games. For all that the 99ers booked the better start into the game scoring the 1:0. Andrew Yogan turned the game to a 2:1 scoring one goal in the second, one in the third. The 99ers pressured a lot but couldn’t overcome the 99ers. The Hungarians kept on being the more efficient team and increased to 4:1. Yogan scored three goals in total.
