The Red Bulls were the team that set the tone for long stretches and deserved to win the duel against the Danish champions. Andrew Rowe took the measure after exactly 58 seconds and scored his first goal for the Red Bulls to take an early lead. In the middle period, the home side pulled away to 5:0, and in the end the ICE champions left the ice with a 6:2 victory - with Rowe scoring a brace.

On the other hand, the EC-KAC lost their second CHL game on Sunday against the Swedish top club Färjestad Karlstad, who were particularly dangerous on the powerplay, by 2:6. After the Swedes had already taken a 3:0 lead after 14 minutes, Hundertpfund reduced the deficit on the powerplay from half distance. With the score at 6:1, Peeters scored the final goal after a solo run down the left wing.

VSV continues preseason winning streak
EC iDM Wärmepumpen VSV also won its fifth preseason game. However, the Villach team had a lot of trouble against Alps Hockey League side Jesenice. After the Slovenians took the lead through Koblar, the Carinthians turned the game around in the first period with goals from Richter and Wallenta. Jesenice equalised in the middle period and the Slovenians took the lead again in the third period. However, Villach's Scherbak scored to make it 3:3 and later 4:4, with Kevin Hancock scoring shortly before the end of overtime to decide the game in Villach's favour.

Defeats for Bolzano and Vorarlberg
HCB Südtirol Alperia conceded a 3:0 defeat to the Augsburg Panthers in the second game of the Hansjörg Brunner Memorial. Bolzano started with 10 forwards and 5 defencemen only 16 hours after the game against Merano. Despite this, the game was played at a good pace by both teams, with the Germans scoring a goal in each period.

The Pioneers Vorarlberg were beaten 2:4 in a test in Cologne. The home side laid the foundations for victory in the first period, when the Sharks scored three goals. The middle period belonged a little more to the visitors, with Joseph Nardi scoring after 25 minutes to make it 1:3. After Cologne restored their three-goal lead in the third period, Julian Metzler scored the final goal in the power play.
